Background
In 1983, he began his career as a Project Coordinator and subsequently promoted to Project Manager with Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB). During his 15 years tenure there, Datuk Yee was entrusted with various project such as civil and building, low rise and high rise, commercial, industrial, residential and mixed development projects.
In 1984 and 1994, he started his companies T&P Engineering Sdn Bhd and Wangsa Ukay Holdings Sdn Bhd respectively. The highlight of Wangsa Ukay Holdings Sdn Bhd was its popular housing project in Taman Perkasa Indah, Hulu Langat, a suburb in Selangor, whereby almost 100 units of terrace houses in a RM24 millions freehold development were sold out in an overwhelming response from local residents. The latter involves in housing development project namely, Taman Indah Jaya, Hulu Langat.
In 2008, he re-named the Weststar Construction Sdn Bhd after Tan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, decided to join hands with Datuk Yee. During his career in Weststar Construction, Datuk’ Yee has successfully steered and managed the company to complete more than 1 billion worth construction projects ranging from hangars, private and government developments, abandon project, offices, showroom and many more. His project management expertise in delivering multiple complex projects allows him to contribute to the Group’s growth.
In 2011, he set up Ukay Builders Sdn Bhd and was responsible for the management of construction activities on sites, including the planning and coordinating of project activities. Over the years, he has successfully completed many construction and development projects, acting as Project Directors.
